ABOUT MAITE
My name is Maite Alonso, and I am a former General and Psychiatric Nurse from Spain, my homeland. My journey into meditation, yoga, movement, dance, and personal development began in 1990, inspired by a deep desire for integration and healing during my recovery from a debilitating eating disorder.
In 1995-1996, I trained as a Movement and Drama Therapist in the Sesame Method at the School of Speech and Drama in London. I also expanded my skills by studying various massage therapies and Person-Centered Counselling.
In 2009, I trained in Shakti Dance, the Yoga of Dance, under Sara Avtar Olivier in the UK. Since then, I have been teaching it in classes and retreats, both in-person and online. In 2012, I trained in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, a practice I have continued to embrace ever since.
Since 2016, I have been exploring Tantra, focusing on bringing greater awareness to sexuality and relationships. These experiences, combined with years of conscious embodiment work, have ignited my passion for sharing my knowledge and skills.
I offer spaces where individuals can reconnect with their bodies, rediscovering their innate life force, joy, and lightness of being. Through this work, I aim to help others reclaim the wisdom and vitality held within their bodies. I find immense joy in facilitating and witnessing people as they open up to their full potential through embodied practices.
