1. Scope and relationship to the Application

These Terms apply to enrolment in the complete Shakti Dance® Level 1 three-module Teacher Training pathway. They are read together with the participant’s Application & Enrolment Form, which identifies the particular training, organiser, location, dates, fees and other programme-specific information. Enrolment in the full pathway is distinct from stand-alone single-module participation, which is governed by separate Single-Module Terms & Conditions.

2. Programme structure and what is included

  • Three curriculum modules delivered through the approved combination of in-person and online teaching, followed by the required final retreat / assessment stage.
  • A programme structured around a minimum of 180 guided/contact training hours. The exact timetable and delivery pattern are stated in the Application or programme schedule.
  • Academy membership for the training period, reserved digital training resources and a black-and-white printed Teacher Training Manual. Any optional colour-printing charge or additional materials are stated separately.
  • Ten required Sadhanas, counted within the guided/contact framework where the programme design provides for this.

3. Certification requirements

To qualify as a Shakti Dance® Level 1 Teacher, the participant must complete all required elements of the programme, including:
  • The minimum guided/contact training hours and all required in-person and online curriculum components.
  • 45 hours of self-study and assigned home practice.
  • At least 10 required Sadhanas.
  • 30 additional hours of recognised practical Shakti Dance® classes or workshops with previously certified teachers.
  • All required assignments, practice diaries, recuperation and assessment tasks.
  • The final practical and written assessment requirements.
  • Full payment of all fees and agreed charges.
Certification is issued only when all academic, practical, attendance, recuperation, payment and assessment requirements have been satisfactorily completed.

4. Home practice, assignments and self-study

The self-study component is experiential and practice-based. Specific practices and creative assignments may be adapted by the training team while remaining within the Level 1 curriculum.
  • Four 40-day home-practice periods across the full programme, each involving approximately seven minutes per day of an assigned mantra movement meditation, Celestial Communication (CC) or comparable Shakti Dance® practice.
  • A practice diary kept during each 40-day period.
  • For the final certification requirements, a concise summary of the participant’s experience from each 40-day practice. Each summary is approximately half an A4 page in 12-point type.
  • Approximately four sadhanas will be offered during each module, making approximately twelve across the three modules, with an additional sadhana during the final assessment stage. Sadhanas may be offered in person or online. Participants following the full certification pathway are required to complete a minimum of ten sadhanas.
  • Personalised movement or alignment exercises; creation and practice of short Flowing Asana / stretching sequences; and, where assigned, approximately four Standing Exercise sequences of about 10–20 minutes each.
  • Practice and review of movement meditations, Celestial Communications, Mantric Choreographies and other material introduced during the programme.
There is no routine written homework requirement beyond the four 40-day practice summaries and the written examination, unless an additional written task is specifically required for recuperation or follow-up after assessment.

5. Additional 30 hours of practice

In addition to the Teacher Training itself, the participant must complete 30 hours of practical Shakti Dance® classes or workshops with previously certified Shakti Dance® teachers.
  • The recognised completion window runs from up to three months before the beginning of the participant’s training until six months after the end of the training, unless an extension is formally approved.
  • In-person hours may be accrued through attended and documented classes or workshops with any certified Shakti Dance® teacher.
  • Online classes or workshops, live or pre-recorded, are recognised only when accessed through the Shakti Dance Academy website and where participation can be appropriately verified.
  • All hours submitted must meet the Academy’s current recognition and verification requirements.

6. Attendance and recuperation

Participants are expected to attend the full programme. Every missed required training component must ultimately be recuperated before certification can be issued.

Pre-declared absences

Where a participant informs the organiser before enrolment, or at the latest before the beginning of the training, of training dates they already know they cannot attend, up to a maximum of four missed training days may be eligible for recuperation through suitable pre-recorded Teacher Training material without an additional recording fee, where such material is available.

Absences not declared before the training begins

Where an absence was not declared before the beginning of the training, use of available recorded recuperation material is subject to the recorded-recuperation fee of 25 Euro per day, plus VAT.

Recorded recuperation

  • Availability of recordings corresponding to the missed curriculum is not guaranteed, and the participant has no entitlement to a recording of a particular training day.
  • Recordings may be available only in certain languages.
  • Recorded recuperation includes an appropriate feedback, reflection or verification process to confirm engagement with and understanding of the missed material.

Recuperation at another Teacher Training

  • Where suitable recordings are unavailable, or where another approved route is more appropriate, missed training may be recuperated by attending the equivalent day(s) of another recognised Shakti Dance® Level 1 Teacher Training in a language the participant can follow or with suitable translation.
  • Eligible recuperation days may be charged at a reduced host-training contribution stated in the Application or current programme information. If more than six days are recuperated at another training, days beyond the sixth are charged at the host programme’s applicable full training-day rate.
  • Travel, accommodation and other personal costs associated with recuperation are the participant’s responsibility.
A participant may be admitted to the final practical assessment with no more than four training days still outstanding. Passing the assessment does not remove the obligation to recuperate them, and no certificate is issued until all missing training is satisfactorily completed.

7. Final assessment and certification

The final assessment includes practical and written elements. Detailed assessment instructions are communicated during the programme. The practical assessment may include leading all or part of a Shakti Dance® class, presenting a specified Mantric Choreography, developing and leading a Celestial Communication, responding to oral questions, and completing any follow-up tasks assigned after the assessment. The written examination is completed according to the instructions issued by the training team. Its detailed content and submission requirements are explained during the programme.

8. Academy membership, materials and online access

  • Access to the Online Training Sessions, constituting part of the module, will be available for all enrolled participants for a limited period of 2 weeks after their live transmission.
  • Academy membership is included in the tuition fee for the training period.
  • Reserved digital manuals and training resources are provided for the participant’s personal study and may not be shared, reproduced, distributed or used to create unauthorised teaching materials.
  • A black-and-white printed Teacher Training Manual is distributed separately for each module to participants enrolled in the corresponding module pathway. Any optional colour-printing arrangement is stated separately.
  • Online accounts and reserved-area access remain subject to the Academy’s current access and copyright conditions.

9. Fees, withdrawal and refunds

The applicable tuition fee, deposit, payment schedule, recuperation charges and payment recipient are stated in the participant’s Application & Enrolment Form or accompanying programme information.
  • The financial consequences of withdrawal, including any non-refundable amounts or remaining payment obligations, are those stated for the particular training and are always subject to mandatory consumer law.
  • Missed training does not in itself create an entitlement to a refund or fee reduction. Missed curriculum is handled through the recuperation provisions above.
  • The costs of accommodation and meals during the four-day retreat are not included in the programme fee and must be paid separately by participants directly at the venue..

10. Health, responsibility and conduct

  • Participants are responsible for informing the organiser / trainers of health circumstances relevant to safe participation and for working within their own physical and psychological limits.
  • The training is educational and experiential and is not a substitute for medical, psychological or other professional treatment.
  • Participants are expected to behave respectfully toward trainers, organisers and other participants and to follow reasonable safety and conduct instructions.
  • Serious or repeated conduct that compromises safety, integrity or the learning environment may lead to review of participation, subject to applicable law and the organiser’s procedures.

11. Privacy and intellectual property

  • Personal information is processed for application, enrolment, training administration, Academy access and certification in accordance with the applicable Privacy Policy and data-protection law.
  • Shakti Dance® names, manuals, training materials, recorded teaching, choreography resources and reserved-area content remain protected intellectual property. Enrolment grants personal learning access only.
  • Participants may not record, reproduce, upload, distribute or commercially exploit training content without prior written permission.

12. Programme changes and force majeure

Reasonable changes may be made to trainers, dates, locations, online delivery arrangements or the sequencing of individual teaching elements where necessary for safe and effective programme delivery. Where a substantial change materially affects the participant’s contracted service, the organiser will act in accordance with applicable law and the programme-specific terms.

13. Applicable law and consumer rights

The governing law, contracting entity and any local statutory information applicable to the participant’s training are identified in the relevant Application & Enrolment Form. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or waives any mandatory consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where mandatory protections of another jurisdiction apply to the participant, these Terms do not deprive the participant of those protections.

14. Acceptance of Terms

The participant accepts these Terms when signing or otherwise formally accepting the corresponding Full Three-Module Application & Enrolment Form. The version of these Terms supplied with that application forms part of the enrolment agreement.

SHAKTI DANCE®  •  SWARA RASA

Single-Module Terms & Conditions

These Terms are generic. The participant’s Application & Enrolment Form supplies the training-specific particulars: organiser, location, dates, fees, payment schedule, recuperation charges and applicable local law.

Outcome

Completion of a selected module may lead to a Certificate of Participation. It is not a Shakti Dance® teaching qualification and does not authorise professional teaching.

Module participation

Full participation in the selected module, its online components, assigned home practice and module assignments is required for the Certificate of Participation.

Access and materials

Single-module enrolment does not include Academy membership. It includes a temporary limited version of Shakti Dance Academy Reserved Area access for the duration of the selected module only, together with a black-and-white printed manual for that module.

1. Scope and relationship to the Application

These Terms apply to participation in one selected Shakti Dance® Level 1 Teacher Training module. They are read together with the participant’s Application & Enrolment Form, which identifies the particular training, organiser, selected module, location, dates, fees and other programme-specific information.

2. Single-module pathway and Certificate of Participation

  • Single-module enrolment is a stand-alone immersion pathway and does not enrol the participant in the complete Level 1 teacher-certification programme.
  • A Certificate of Participation may be issued after the participant has completed the required module curriculum, assignments, home practice and any necessary recuperation.
  • The Certificate of Participation confirms completion of the selected module only. It does not constitute Shakti Dance® Level 1 Teacher certification and does not authorise the participant to teach Shakti Dance® professionally.

3. Module participation, home practice and assignments

Specific practices and creative assignments may be adapted by the training team while remaining within the Level 1 module curriculum.
  • Approximately four practical / creative assignments are offered within each module. Their exact format and whether they are completed live, online or between teaching sessions may vary.
  • Participants may be assigned a 40-day home practice and are expected to keep any practice diary requested for the module.
  • Module work may include personalised movement or alignment exercises, short Flowing Asana / stretching sequences, Standing Exercise sequences, movement meditations, Celestial Communications, Mantric Choreographies, creative work and review tasks.
  • Full participation in the module, including the completion of all required practical exercises and assignments, is mandatory in order to obtain the corresponding Certificate of Participation for that module. This requirement is particularly important if the participant subsequently decides to enrol in the full training programme.

4. Attendance and recuperation

Participants are expected to attend the complete selected module. Any missed required encounter must be recuperated before the module can be regarded as complete and before a Certificate of Participation is issued. The Certificate of Participation will be delivered in digital form to the participant’s email address.

Pre-declared absences

Where a participant informs the organiser before enrolment, or at the latest before the beginning of the training, of training dates they already know they cannot attend, up to a maximum of two missed training days may be eligible for recuperation through suitable pre-recorded Teacher Training material without an additional recording fee, where such material is available.

Absences not declared before the training begins

Where an absence was not declared before the beginning of the training, use of available recorded recuperation material is subject to the recorded-recuperation fee of 25 Euro per day, plus VAT.

Recorded and host-training recuperation

  • Suitable recordings are not guaranteed and may be available only in certain languages.
  • Recorded recuperation includes an appropriate feedback, reflection or verification process to confirm engagement with and understanding of the missed material.
  • If suitable recorded material is unavailable, missed training must be completed at an equivalent future recognised Shakti Dance® Level 1 Teacher Training in a language the participant can follow or with suitable translation.
  • Host-training recuperation charges, and any full daily rate that applies beyond the reduced-fee threshold, are stated in the Application or current programme information. Travel and accommodation are the participant’s responsibility.

5. Materials and Reserved Area access

  • Access to the Online Training Sessions, constituting part of the module, will be available for all enrolled participants for a limited period of 2 weeks after their live transmission.
  • Single-module enrolment does not include Academy membership. Tuition includes temporary access to the limited version of Shakti Dance Academy Reserved Area and the online training resources associated with the selected module for the duration of that module.
  • Reserved Area access provided through single-module enrolment ends when the selected module is completed. Further access is available only through a subsequent module enrolment or enrolment in the complete Level 1 pathway.
  • Digital manuals and Reserved Area resources are for personal study only and remain subject to the Academy’s copyright and access conditions.
  • A black-and-white printed Teacher Training Manual pertaining to the selected module is distributed to participants enrolled in that module. Any optional colour-printing arrangement is stated separately.

6. Upgrading to the full Level 1 pathway

A participant who begins on a single-module basis may subsequently continue toward the complete Level 1 Teacher Training pathway by enrolling in the remaining modules under the following arrangement.
  • Each subsequent module is paid at the applicable single-module fee. A participant continuing after Module 1 therefore pays the applicable single-module fee for Module 2 and, subsequently, for Module 3.
  • A participant who decides to complete the full Level 1 pathway must complete and submit the Full Three-Module Application & Enrolment Form and accept the Full Three-Module Terms & Conditions applicable at that time.
  • Any module already taken and paid for remains recorded at the tuition fee originally agreed for that module and is not retrospectively repriced. The participant is not retrospectively converted to any reduced full-programme or package rate available to participants who committed to the complete training from the outset.
  • Once the participant enrols in the remaining modules required for the complete Level 1 pathway, full-pathway Reserved Area access and the Academy membership applicable to full-pathway participants become available in accordance with the Full Three-Module Enrolment Agreement. The cumulative module fees cover the training, materials and programme access associated with the three modules.
  • In addition to the module tuition, a participant proceeding to final qualification pays the separate exam-weekend fee applicable to the programme. This fee covers correction of the written examination, the certification fee, and trainer and organiser costs associated with conducting and administering the exam weekend. The retreat food and accommodation costs are additional to this and should be paid separately.
  • Any previous module that the participant wishes to count toward the full pathway must first have its Certificate of Participation requirements completed and documented.
  • Continuing into the full pathway does not remove or reduce any academic, practice, attendance, recuperation, assessment, examination or certification requirement.

7. Fees, withdrawal and refunds

The applicable module fee, deposit, payment schedule, recuperation charges and payment recipient are stated in the participant’s Application & Enrolment Form or accompanying programme information.

8. Health, responsibility and conduct

  • Participants are responsible for informing the organiser / trainers of health circumstances relevant to safe participation and for working within their own physical and psychological limits.
  • The training is educational and experiential and is not a substitute for medical, psychological or other professional treatment.
  • Participants are expected to behave respectfully and to follow reasonable safety and conduct instructions.
  • Serious or repeated conduct that compromises safety, integrity or the learning environment may lead to review of participation, subject to applicable law and the organiser’s procedures.

9. Privacy and intellectual property

  • Personal information is processed for application, enrolment, module administration and Academy access in accordance with the applicable Privacy Policy and data-protection law.
  • Shakti Dance® names, manuals, training materials, recorded teaching, choreography resources and reserved-area content remain protected intellectual property. Enrolment grants personal learning access only.
  • Participants may not record, reproduce, upload, distribute or commercially exploit training content without prior written permission.

11. Applicable law and consumer rights

The governing law, contracting entity and any local statutory information applicable to the participant’s module are identified in the relevant Application & Enrolment Form. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or waives any mandatory consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where mandatory protections of another jurisdiction apply to the participant, these Terms do not deprive the participant of those protections.

12. Acceptance of Terms

The participant accepts these Terms when signing or otherwise formally accepting the corresponding Single-Module Application & Enrolment Form. The version of these Terms supplied with that application forms part of the enrolment agreement.
